Dear Shirley and family.....We have just learned of Clare's passing and wanted to share our sincere condolences to you and your family. Dad was so shocked when I told him....I know he and Clare enjoyed talking about horses and farming. He will certainly be missed in the Hartford Community. We are praying that you will find strength and comfort in precious memories.

We are very saddened to hear of Clare's passing. He was a great guy and a wonderful neighbor. We will miss him driving up and down our road, either on his lawn mower cutting the county ditch, his atv, his old truck or his big old Lincoln. And we're certainly going to miss his turnips in the fall! You have been a wonderful friend and neighbour, especially to Bob for many years.
Rest in peace Clare. You will be missed.
Sincere condolences to Shirley, our neighbours Shelley, Dale, Sarah and Amber and the entire family.

Our sincere sympathy to all the family, we always would have a good chat with Clare when we would meet up with him at antique tractor events. He enjoyed all the old time county music...treasure the memories, Linda & John Hastings

I worked with Clare for many years at Hydro and considered him as a good friend .Too say Clare was a bit of a Charactor may be a bit of an understatement. He would come out to the fairs to see my heavy horses always enjoyed himself. He would always play practical jokes on me,sour cream instead of wip cream on pumpkin pie and rotten smelling cheese on a car door handle the smell on my hand caused me to drive home with my arm out the window. We never did drink that bottle when I retired with my regrets. My sincere smpathys to the family may God bless.
