PUGH: David Paul - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Pugh at Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday July 12, 2020 in his 71st year.

Dear husband of Joan Pugh (nee Stewart) whom he married April 24, 1971. Caring father to Brigette and husband Craig Wranich of Kitchener and Barbara of Blink Bonnie. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Ally and Nick. Dear brother to Don & wife Lois of Richmond Hill and Barb & husband Dirk Loose of Milton and survived by his sister-in-law Janet & husband Greg Campbell of Blink Bonnie and by many nieces and nephews.

Paul was born in Palmerston, Ontario on January 6, 1950 to Reverend Don Pugh and Dorothy Pugh (nee Bramhill).

As a young lad, Paul enjoyed working on almost anything with wheels. Never satisfied, Paul was always working to improve whatever he had at the time, anything from a bicycle to an 18-wheeler. Paul parlayed his fascination with vehicles into a lifelong career as an automotive and heavy truck mechanic. Paul was a longtime employee of Queensway Autobody in Kitchener and more recently with Erb Transport in New Hamburg.

In 1977, he and Joan built their own home on the outskirts of Plattsville at Blink Bonnie. Paul would often be seen working on various vehicles at their place. He was always willing to help family and friends by fixing their cars. Whatever Paul was working on, Paul always fixed it right. His technical knowledge, creativity and mechanical skills were amazing. Paul found great satisfaction in improving the original design of an item to make it bigger, better and stronger. He always had multiple projects on the go and was happiest when he had a tool in in his hand.

Relatives and friends may call at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St., Plattsville on Wednesday July 15, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Cremation will follow.

(Please be advised Provincial restrictions are still in place and only a limited number of people are allowed in the building at one time and social distancing must be observed, so be patient as there may be a wait to see the family. Also face masks are encouraged to be worn in the building during visitation).

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mayer Institute, 20 Railway St. Hamilton, ON L8R 2R3 would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences can be posted at

A special Thank You to all the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at the Woodstock General Hospital for all the care given to Paul in his final days.

June Robertson and (Sheila) Nancy (Robertson) Deming - cousins of Joan and Janet - remember Paul for so many years. Thinking of you - Joan, and your daughters. I remember Joan and Paul and the girls at our house on Ore Lake in Michigan - it's got to be 40 years ago; and we were at the farm so many times. Love to you all. June and Nancy
