Selina Dorothy (Walter) Durkee died June 1, 2020 in her 97th year at Caressant Care Nursing Home - Courtland. Daughter of the late Wm. John Walter and Bessie (Harris). Born in Shebbear, England (1923), came to Canada April 1, 1927, to Concession12, South Norwich.
Wife of the late Harold Durkee (1989). Left to mourn her loss 3 daughter and 2 sons. Lois Darby (Terry) of Brantford, Pat Williams (the late John) of Simcoe, Kathleen Balogh (Dale Arthur) of Otterville, Jay (Stephanie) of Otterville and James Durkee of Otterville.
Cherished by her granchildren Carol Lynn Dostal, Joanne Papple, Cindy Smith, John Williams, Scott Williams, Harold Durkee, Jamie Balogh, Alex Balogh; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Survived by sister-in-law Evelyn (Roswell) Walter.
Pre-deceased by her grandson Lloyd Durkee (1998), 3 brothers; John (1993), Reginald (1988), Edward (1989), sister Kathleen Saunders (1967).
Dorothy was a Past Worthy Matron and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Life member of St. John's Anglican Church, Otterville, Ontario. She was the first Warden, and taught Sunday School for many years.
Arrangements entrusted to the ARN-LOCKIE FUNERAL HOME, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020. A private family service will be held. Interment at Otterville Cemetery. Donations in memory of Dorothy, may be made to the VON - Sakura House or to Care Partners.
