Chris McCleak passed away suddenly but peacefully at Trinity Village Long Term Care Home in Kitchener, on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021. He was 82.

He is now present with his Lord.
Beloved husband of Dorothy (Purchas) McCleak whom he married May 23rd, 1970 in Kingston, Jamaica. Dear father of Alison Danvers, Liverpool,UK, Bridget Heath (Nigel Harris), Odiham, UK, Rachel (Mike) Hofstetter, Plattsville, and Lorraine Ready, Collingwood. As Papa, he will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Kayleigh, Jason (Lowri), Robert, James and Jake, Hayden (Taylor), Payton, Finnegan, Liam, Noah and by great-grandson Charlie and great-granddaughter Blakely. Survived by his sister-in-law E. Jean Jann of Langton, ON, his nephew David and many dearly loved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Albert Edward & Rose Millicent (Muschett) McCleak.

Chris was a character! He referred to himself as Baldilocks-and-the-3-hairs. Born in St. Andrews, Jamaica, he then went on to live in Trinidad, New Zealand, England, back to Jamaica and eventually Canada where he spent the majority of his life. His passion for classic British cars started at an early age and was fully realized when he opened his own shop, Sterling Motors, in Kitchener. He was funny, loving and opinionated! Hence the nickname “Trouble!” The friendships he made throughout his life were a source of joy for him and were truly cherished. As a long time member of Benton Street Baptist Church, he enjoyed serving along with his church-family in programs like Out of the Cold in downtown Kitchener. Chris was a great amateur photographer and loved going for Sunday drives to find new landscapes to photograph with his Dorothy. He would often take his fishing pole along for the ride too!

His playful charm will be missed by all those who loved him.

A big thank you to the wonderful care of the staff at Trinity Village Long Term Care. Chris often remarked how kindly he was treated.

At Chris’ request, there will be no funeral. A private, family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations to The Alzheimer’s Society would be gratefully appreciated. Personal condolences can be posted at www.gffh.ca
