Obituary for Ruth Isabel HALLMAN
Ruth Isabel Hallman
March 29, 1946 - August 1, 2022
Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Monday, August 1, 2022 at the age of 76.
Ruth will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her brother Peter Hallman and his wife Linda, and her sister-in-law Donna Hallman.
She was a devoted aunt to David (Julianne) Hallman, Laurie (Scott) Stobo, Sara (Chris) Middleton, Heidi (Matt) Meier, Steve (Alicia) Hallman and Lisa (Mike) Moore, and a special great aunt to Abby, Josiah and Caleb Hallman; Andrea (Marcus) Edwards, Emma, Matthew and Bethany Stobo; Jude and Ethan Middleton; Lucie Meier and Henry Moore.
She will be fondly remembered by her many cousins.
She was predeceased by partner David Hoffman (1989), parents Russell (2005) and Isabel (2018) Hallman, brother Russell Hallman (2013) and sister Susan Hallman (2003).
Ruth grew up on a farm near Bright, Ontario, a place which always remained close to her heart. She moved to Kitchener as a young woman to begin her teaching career with the Waterloo Region District School Board, working for many years at A. R. Kaufman Public School, where she was a much-loved kindergarten teacher. Ruth was generous, thoughtful and kind, a faithful friend and a loving caregiver who greatly valued her family. She enjoyed playing the piano and was very fond of her blue PT Cruiser. She was also an avid reader who fostered a love of reading in her nieces and nephews with the gift of thoughtfully selected books each Christmas and birthday.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, August 23 at Creekside Church, 660 Conservation Dr., Waterloo ON.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
