Obituary for Marion TAYLOR

Marion Taylor (1921 – 2023)

In September 1921, the world welcomed Marion. Born in Otterville to Velma and Murray Holmes, she became a baby sister to Ella.

As a young woman she moved to Toronto where she met Rod Taylor, the love of her life. They married in 1944 and began a very happy 59-year marriage.

Marion was an extraordinary mother to Bryan, Lynn, Janet and Scott, and also “Mom” to the neighbourhood children, all drawn to our backyard and home in Otterville, all enveloped in her warmth and love. She loved spending time with her 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank the health care workers at Delrose Retirement Residence (Delhi) and at Maple Manor Nursing Home (Tillsonburg) for the loving care that she received during her last years. She spoke very highly of the warmth and compassion that surrounded her during her times there.

She was truly an exceptional woman – witty, strong, wise, curious about the world, embracing a healthy lifestyle and a positive outlook and, above all, loving. Her smile would light up any room and, as such, the world is a sadder place today.

An interment will take place at a later date attended by family members. Anyone wishing to commemorate Marion’s life is invited to make a donation to the Otterville United Church.
