Louise ("Mrs Baird", as I was growing up!) was a pillar of our community. She set a good example for all with her gentle ways, helping hands and neighbourhood involvement. On Saturdays, when she worked with Hugh in their hardware store in Plattsville, I was a babysitter for young Michell and Doug! After I left home, and eventually moved to Alberta, I continued to read her Ayr News column and we corresponded at Christmas for many years.

My sympathy to the family as they part with their family matriarch.

We were so sad the hear of Louise's passing. We had visited her many times when we were in Ontario, and were always welcomed with open arms. We will miss getting the Christmas letter with all the local news. Hope to see some of my cousins at the Baird reunion as we will be in Ontario this June.
