On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, Jean (McMullen) Dow from Tillsonburg, passed away at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
Jean is survived by her children: Paul (Maria Cristina) Dow, Karen (Tom) Cassells and Nancy Dow (Erik Finnson), her brother John Mc Mullen and sisters in law Lurene and Donna McMullen.
Grandchildren Aaron, Leah (Chris), Katherine, Charlie, Maggie, James, Jeremy and Erin great-grandchildren Vera, Benjamin, Everett, and many nieces and nephews.
Jean is also survived by a much loved and devoted group of friends known as: “the coffee group”.
Marg, Elaine, Bob & Marj, Murray & Marilyn who are the remaining six.
Predeceased by her husband Ross Dow (2008) and brothers Donnie and Billy McMullen and their parents before them.
Jean worked for the Township of Norwich for many years and was one of the founding members of the Otterville Sunshine Club. Once into her retirement enjoyed time with family and friends, watching the Toronto Blue Jays, the sports of curling and skating and was often in attendance of her children's and grandchildren’s activities. She loved her home, a good visit with a cup of coffee or tea, she had an unwavering loyalty and always an ear to listen. She lived her life with integrity and was true to her word. She was always “fine” when asked how she was doing.
Resting at the Arn-Lockie Funeral home in Norwich, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020, visitation will take place on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm and on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 10:30 am to 11:15 am with the funeral scheduled to begin at 11:30 am. There will be a luncheon following the funeral service, at the Woodlawn Hall, in Otterville. Inurnment will be at a later date.
The family wishes to thank Doctor Sohla for his care, neighbours Rose and Ron and Jackie for “checking in” when we were unable to be there in person. Christine for all the years of hairstyling and the PSW’s who attended the home for daily care with a special thank you to Tracy for her companionship.
Donations in memory of Jean, may be made to the Victorian Order Nurses - Oxford or the Woodingford Lodge - Family Transition Program, will be appreciated.
