Obituary for Izaak "Ike" ROOS

ROOS: Izaak - Following a courageous battle with Cancer, Izaak (Ike) Roos in his 80th year, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024 at Sakura House.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Carol Davie-Roos. Pops will be dearly missed by his grandson Adrian Davie who held his hand throughout this journey. Dear Papa to his great-grandchildren Reed, Charlotte and Noah. Brother Karst Roos as well as nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a stepdaughter and grandchildren. Izaak will be remembered by his many co-workers from Thomas Built Buses.

He was predeceased by his infant daughter Kimberley, sister Dirkje (Dorothy) Zieglar, brother Henry Roos and his parents, Izaak and Hendrica Roos.

One of his greatest accomplishments was getting sober 35 years ago. One of his proudest moments was when he won the City Beautiful Awards for his gardens carefully perfected by his green thumb. He also took on the role of Santa, Christmas Eve for over 30 years.

He will be missed by his faithful dogs, Foxy and Moose who never left his side.

As per his wishes there will be no service.

Interment will take place at the Chesterfield Cemetery at a later date.
