Obituary for George Dennis EATON

EATON, George Dennis- passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday Dec.1, 2022. George Eaton of Woodstock in his 81st year.

Beloved husband of Rosalie Hollohan, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years. Dear father of Dennis of Woodstock, Kevin (Nancy) of Princeton and Kimberly Eaton (Len LaBelle) of Gobles. He will be sadly missed by grandchildren Jason (Sarah) Michael, Trevor (Emily) Ashlyn (Mitch) and Ryan and great granddaughter Zoey. George is survived by his sisters-in-laws Jane Eaton, Diane (Basil) Kelleher, Bernice (Chris) Tremble, Dawn (Farouk) Ahamed, Sharon Barron and by brother-in-law Ron (Marlene) Barron. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

George was born May 8, 1942. Predeceased by his parents Howard (1974) and Emily (Gibbons) Eaton (2003), brothers Bill (2003), Ron (2020) and wife Jean (2009). Also predeceased by brother-in-law Peter Barron, son-in-law Randy Bullock and father and mother-in-law Ronald and Pearl Barron.

George owned and operated Eaton`s Garage in Innerkip during the 1970`s. Later he spent many years working for the MTO and Steed & Evans. George was a force to be reckoned with and his presence filled any room he was in! He had a kind and generous heart and loved to tease everyone! He was proud to be a member of the Innerkip Tug-O-War team for many years. He loved going to car shows and cruise nights with his 1963 Chev Impala or his 1969 Buick. He looked forward to going to yard sales and auctions and loved his collection of die cast trucks and cars. He always enjoyed chatting with everyone at the Saturday morning Market in Woodstock, where he volunteered, helping sell fruit and vegetables. He loved going out to Kevin`s shop, visiting, (arguing!) and enjoying a good laugh with all the guys! He will be missed by many neighbours on Hummingbird Cr. He got to know and chatted with all and enjoyed blowing snow for many.

At George`s request, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place later in the Innerkip Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences can be posted to www.gffh.ca

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Glendinning Funeral Home, Plattsville.
