Fredda Marie McKie passed away on Friday, November 18th, 2022, only 10 days shy of her 97th birthday. Predeceased by her parents Nelson and Mary Rathbun and her brothers Bill and Jimmy.
She was loved and will be missed by her children Barbara Desplenter (George), Gloria Helmeczy (Joseph), and William Franklin (Connie). Fredda was predeceased by daughters Betty Winter (Gary) and Gay Franklin (Mike).
She adored her grandchildren Chris, Dianne, Rob, Steve, Andrew and Kate and was a loving great-grandmother of six.
Fredda enjoyed her secretarial work over the years, as receptionist at Ralph Moore and Sons, and personnel assistant at the Brantford General hospital where many lasting friendships were forged.
Fredda’s family and friends will remember her as extremely sociable, highly intelligent and very lively for her age. She enjoyed music, dancing, and card games with friends but above all she cherished time spent with her family.
Family and friends will be received at the Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020, on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 12:30-1 PM. Memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 1 PM. A private family interment at the Norwich Gore Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal rescue charity of your choice.
