OTTERVILE, ON

Dorothy Grace Neale (Chivers), passed away peacefully at Parkwood Institute, on Thursday, February 9, 2023, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald P. Neale (2014) and loved mother of the late Glenn (1989).

grandmother of Lindsay (Travis Grubb), Michelle, Mackenzie (Sam Jacob), Mallory, Madison (Josh Gilbert). Adoring great grandmother of Caleb and Chloe.

Predeceased by her brother Lloyd and survived by dear sisters-in-law Helen Chivers and Lillian Neale.

Dorothy will be remembered as the gentle and loving matriarch of the Neale family. After growing up on the family farm in Vienna, she and Don built their home in Otterville where they raised their four children and became prominent members of the community. Don as school teacher and principal and Dorothy in her careers at the RBC and Post Office. The family were long time active members of the Otterville
United Church and Dorothy, a founding member of the Otterville Sunshine club was well known for her great quilting skills and baking which she readily donated to many community functions.

In her latter years, Dorothy suffered from Alzheimer disease. While memory was an issue, she never lost her kind and loving nature, the twinkle in her eyes or her sense of humour. She loved everyone and everyone loved her! The family thanks Jason for his support, the staff at Oakcrossing People Care, London and the caregivers at Parkwood Institute for the wonderful support and care that Dorothy and family received through this difficult time.

Arrangements entrusted to the Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Otterville Cemetery. Donations in memory of Dorothy, may be made to the Otterville United Church or the Alzheimer’s Society Oxford.
