Obituary for Diane Edith LUKE

LUKE: Diane Edith - passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at her home on Wednesday June 23, 2021. Diane Luke of Drumbo in her 61st year.

Loving wife of Lisa Connolly whom she married June 27, 2006. Diane will be remembered by her mother Ruth Luke of Lindsay, her sister Karen & Wayne Wannamaker of Goderich, brothers Dale Luke of Lindsay, Doug Luke & Michelle Davies of Guelph, father & mother-in-law Cliff & Carol Connolly of Cambridge, sisters-in-law Kathy & Ed Garham of Cambridge and Joanne Connolly & Paul Bowman of Kitchener and by her nieces Sadie & Alec, Sarah & Bob, Heather & Barry, Riley, Abigail and Josslyn.

Predeceased by her father Reginald Luke.

Diane was a true renaissance woman. She flew a plane, could find the best restaurants anywhere she travelled, do math calculations in her head, and explain accounting principles to a nurse. She followed current events, loved to read about history and politics, and was a devoted CBC radio fan. Diane always had an interest in farming and a soft spot for farmers. She really was a way better curler than Lisa.

After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University, Diane became a Professional Accountant. She worked in a diversity of sectors including healthcare, municipal, insurance and not-for-profit accounting. Diane continued to work fulltime until the day she died, despite her physical decline and communication limitations from ALS, because it gave her purpose, and she never wanted to let anyone down.

Diane had a generous soul and was deeply sentimental. She was incredibly loyal to those she loved. Diane will be missed more than words can adequately express.

Relatives and friends will be received in the Glendinning Funeral Home for memorial visitation on Saturday July 10, 2021 from 1-4pm. Those wishing to attend must RSVP on Diane's memorial page on the funeral home website.

In lieu of flowers, donations to A.L.S would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences can be posted at www.gffh.ca
