Obituary for Cameron Erle "Cam" COCHRANE

COCHRANE, Cameron Erle “Cam” – passed away peacefully in his 84th year surrounded by his loving sons on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Woodstock Hospital.

Dear father of Dean and wife Bridgette of Thedford, and Scott and wife Cindy of Mount Brydges. Much missed grandfather to Emma, Ashley and husband Brad, and Kori and husband Kevin, and great-grandfather to Adeline, Leeson, Sophia and Caleb. Survived by his brother Bruce of Waterloo and sister Esther of Pinawa, Manitoba, and many nieces and nephews. Survived by the mother of his children, Ruth.

Predeceased by beloved wife Pat, his parents Deans and Belle, sister Agnes and brother-in-law Hugh Hall, sister Jean and brother-in-law Howard Mitchell, sister Margaret and brother-in-law Doug Weber, and brother-in-law Hilton Wright.

Cam was a truck driver and Greyhound Bus driver for many years and formed some close friendships during that time. There are many stories of his adventures, or misadventures, on the road. His family also operated a fishing camp in Lavinge for several years. Cam was also skilled at operating almost any piece of heavy equipment and worked for several years in that field.

Cam had a love of horses and owned several during his life. He had a passion for old tractors and restored several, including his father’s International Super C: some of these tractors remain in the family today. He was also an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays (as well as ice cream and chocolate milk). He had a quick sense of humour and an infectious smile. He will be greatly missed.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure; you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Memorial service and inurnment will be held on Monday, November 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Ayr Cemetery, in Ayr.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
